Family, Fun, and Dallas/Fort Worth!

I’ll admit, I fell in love with long horn cattle the first time I laid eyes on them! So, since we were headed to Dallas (to see family) I suggested we go to the Fort Worth Stockyards. But before we did that – we went to the JFK Library.

Here’s a link for the tour JFK Library – discounts are available so don’t forget to ask. We both received a $4/each discount because my husband is a veteran. We paid $10/each for the audio tour and it was well worth it! This is a very well laid out museum/tour and the designers really wanted the visitor to feel like they were there in November 1963. Excellent tour and we were there for almost three hours! If you need a break from standing, there are benches to sit on but not many.

As historians tell the story – there were three shots fired. The large X was the fatal shot. You’ll have to visit the museum to find out the back story. 🙂
Patrolling downtown Dallas and posing for pictures!

I see a common theme already. We seem to go to places that cause me, a moment of pause. I was still in the womb when JFK was assassinated, but I’ve always felt a draw to come see it for myself. And luckily, I got that chance!

Next stop – The Stockyards!!!!!! And my first ever Rodeo!!!!!!
