Our SC Home friends are here in AZ!

The phone rang and what a welcome phone call it was!!

Our friends (Don & Carolyn) from our old home in South Carolina, were here in Arizona! We talked to them earlier in the day and they had gotten caught in a Snow Storm in New Mexico, so they pulled over to wait it out! Will they make it? I wondered. They were in that Bomb Cyclone. But yes….

Later …. they were finally behind us following us to camp (and they were safe)! I could see them and was so excited that they were here! For us (after being out here for four months) a warm hug and hello from home, was just what I needed to sustain myself and recharge.

They camped with us, on their way to California, for about five nights.

During that time we ran some errands, had some lovely chats and got caught up with everyone. Carolyn and I got some girl-talk time and we all completed some RV projects.

Carolyn and I both got to watch this little Roadrunner playing around our camp with his friend one morning.

Carolyn and I did some recipe exchange, some “how do you handle…? questions” and got the windows cleaned in our rigs. We both added some curtain tension rods in our cabinets to keep things from sliding around or out! Our Dog Dezzie, loved having them here! (They spoiled her so much we started calling them her grandparents!)

Don and Trapper got a lot accomplished! Lots of Solar discussions, water conservation tips, and they got our door fixed! It was about off the hinges! I could just see it flying off going down the road! But, now, it’s fixed!! Thanks guys!

The Solar diagnosis was in cramped quarters. Trapper explained his wiring procedure and Don helped out on the technical side. After a couple hours under our 5th Wheel in the belly – it was decided it was a programming issue. We’ll be contacting BattleBorn soon for the magic cable (as I call it) for programming.

We took walks in the desert and took crazy pictures with the Saguaro Cactus. Just hanging out with friends in the desert and watching some sunsets together!

We parted ways on Thursday morning (March 21, 2019). They were headed west towards California and we were headed north to Tonto National Forest somewhere in the Roosevelt Lake area. Neither of us couples had a true destination on any time frame. Guess that’s part of the RV lifestyle. We all did make tentative plans to meet back up somewhere before they make the trek back East. I really hope we can all make that work. I just love these folks! 🙂

If you want to check out more of Don and Carolyn’s Adventures you can find them on Instagram @homesteadhandyman or on YouTube at HomesteadHandyman – tell them – Lynette sent you!

We left camp about 10 minutes behind them, went to dump our tanks and head on our way to our next destination… stay tuned please. See ya a little further on in northeast Arizona.
