Today, we finished projects and got on the road! First time towing the Jeep and driving the Motorcoach more than 100 miles and up-grades and through mountains. Whew!
Maybe I should call it a shake-down trip, but we have no where really to shake back down to. We gotta figure it out as we go. This thing is much different from our 5th Wheel. The backing procedure is different and everything else.
For Trapper, of course, he likes the way it travels down the road. It’s a diesel pusher. It handled Saluda Grade (I-26 W out of Spartanburg, SC – just fine with it’s 7% incline and decline on the other side !)
I liked it because it didn’t rattle. I actually didn’t hear a single “rattle” the whole trip to Knoxville, TN. Unbelievable. I thought I’d be crazy with “rattles!”
We rolled into Melton Hill Dam (TVA) Campground and they had a perfect spot for us for two nights. $20 a night total with Trapper’s Senior Pass – otherwise $27 a night. But look at this! Electric and Water with a dump station on the way out or in!
The Jeep towed just like it should. It was easy to unhook and scope out the campsites that were available for a couple of nights. And we are here!
It was a good day and good travel day. More on travel days later in the new rig, but today was good and my first ever riding in her! I like this new-to-us rig …..
Excellent!
Thanks so much! We love it so far!
Very Nice!
Thanks Johnny!
