More UP touring… Pure Michigan

A very short day for the trio of us.

Trapper and I had heard a lot about Miners Castle and Miners Falls so we decided to take Rich to both places.

Gorgeous hike down and up to the falls and beautiful scenery once at Miners Falls.

The hike out to Miners Falls was awesome. Supposedly only 0.6 miles (it felt much longer with a few grades).

Once you actually see the falls there are two more options for better viewing. One is a 96 step stair case and the other is a 116 step stair case. Both of these take you down closer to the falls but I opted out. The guys went on!

Miner’s Castle is part of the Pictured Rock National Lakeshore and can also be seen from driving to it and not just by boat.

I thought I was back in the Bahamas when I saw the water!

We ate lunch at The Duck Pond Eatery and Beer Garden (7974 M-28 W, Munising, MI 49862, it’s in Christmas but has a Munising address) Awesome BBQ! Get the Sampler!

Then we were off to the Horseshoe Falls on the way back to camp. Nice little area with a short hike and interesting things all around.

Very large Sundial

Wishing well… Rich is rockin’ a vintage Fry-Line Kennel sweatshirt! Training Labrador Retrievers is still in my husbands blood! Not to mention he wanted the sweatshirt back from Rich!

Horse shoe Falls

We ended the day with another awesome campfire dinner and said good-bye to our friend who was leaving the next day.

Then, onto trip planning our way out of the UP. I really need to get better at this part of RVing.
