You don’t know how much you miss about the rain until you don’t have the rain.
I watch a lot of sailing video’s that talk about how they begin to miss the smell of land. I’m starting to get that same feeling about the rain. But the desert did give us a short shower today!
I left you last at Joshua Tree, CA, camped on BLM land. We have made it back to AZ and we’re camped in Parker, AZ on Tribal Land at Blue Waters Casino.
On our way we stopped at Rice Shoe Tree in Vidal, CA. I read online this was originally a tree that passers would stop and throw their shoes up in. The tree burned down and someone erected a fence to replace the tree. The fence is full of shoes now but there’s an old gas station that folks have replaced the tree with too. Interesting and strange!
We made it to Blue Waters Casino and Resort in Parker, AZ. The dirt lots along the entrance road were marked “Permit Required” but when we asked inside the Casino, they said there were no charges or permits. They also allow parking “camping” in their parking lot but good gracious it was crowded! Not to mention very off level.
The dirt lot was up closer to the roadway but the noise never seemed to bother either of us.
I noticed the Class A (below) coming into the dirt area. I turned around to do something and when I turned back around he was up close and personal with us! I just knew he was going to hit us! All I could see out our front window was straight inside his coach!
In the picture below those are his tracks! Now, be reminded, this area is huge (100’s of acres and all solid packed dirt) I don’t know what he was thinking.
A few days later we made it back to Quartzsite, AZ for our appointment to get our Battleborn Batteries installed on March 3, 2020.
We decided to camp on AZ State Trust Land right across the street from where the install was going to take place. March 3 rolled around, everyone showed up, the install went great and we will soon be on our way north to Lake Havasu!
We hung around one more day to make sure everything was working correctly, but tomorrow we’re on our way to Lake Havasu, AZ!
