Headed North… Leaving Quartzsite, AZ to Lake Havasu City, AZ

I’m so ready to land somewhere new as I’m a bit done with southern AZ. I didn’t even mind our travel day – this is a perfect travel day. The sun is out, the traffic is light, we’re ready, and we’re going somewhere new.

Travel days do tend to stress me out though; but like others say… at least come sunset, you’ll be in a different place. And quite honestly, I’m looking forward to another place.

We have two options of where we’re going…. 1) Craggy Wash or 2) Lone Tree – both BLM. Lone Tree is higher in elevation at all of 1400 ft and Craggy Wash is a “wash” on the desert floor. Neither are marked, so you just need the GPS coordinates or look at freeroam.app for the map overlay.

Craggy Wash was a no go. It’s completely in a canyon and they call it a Wash for a reason; however, it is gorgeous back there). There is rain in the forecast and we don’t wanna be in all that! Not to mention there’s no internet service until you get 3 miles back on the canyon floor.

So we choose Lone Tree, BLM (It’s actually on google maps).

Why do we always look for BLM land to camp on… because we prefer it. We prefer to be away from strangers. We don’t like campgrounds because they are too crowded. We can’t have a conversation without someone hearing our conversation. We just like the challenge. It’s awesome.

But, I’m going to get on with the story and only show a little of Lake Havasu City, AZ…. as the world is changing quickly and our plans are changing by the minute. Bear with us. It’s a GREAT place to visit. It’s absolutely gorgeous!
