We scoped out some BLM land just outside Tucson, AZ (watched some YouTube vid’s about it, thanks FateUnbound.com) and settled in on this spot.
We arrived on Thursday, unhooked and took a trip back into town to the local grocery which was only about 10 miles away. It blows my mind that the grocery stores in the west (most of them) sell Liquor. Interesting. Oh, Walgreen’s sold liquor too and the Circle K. ?????
Trapper gets in touch with his long-time friend (Zeke) and lets him know where we are. Zeke was having the surgery the following day, so we just hung out on Friday and got settled in. We have some good friends from SC heading this way, so we’ll be here for a couple weeks I’m sure.
Saturday, Zeke comes over and takes us for a personal tour through Saguaro National Park and then to Mount Lemmon!
Absolutely stunning views! The west does not let you down on views!
We arrive at 8,000 ft. on Mount Lemmon and find snow, a gorgeous ski resort, and a really good restaurant! It’s 25 miles of paved road from the base to where we ended our trip. A few switch backs and grades along the way.
Having a personal guide is hands-down the best way to sight see; especially when you don’t have to drive!
We’ll pick back up with Zeke tomorrow on a tour down to Tombstone, AZ!
