Nearly 7 months to-the-day… that we drove out of our driveway for the last time… and today, we are camped about 5 miles from our old house for the week. We’re moochdocking in our mechanics side yard. How crazy is that?
It feels a little strange to be back “home”. The good part is, I know where all the stores are, I know my way around town, I know my way around in the stores and I can get a hair cut from my regular gal! (Thanks Angie!!)
We’ve had some appointments this week and sat aside time for friends. It was awesome walking into the Spartanburg FedEx station and seeing some of the folks I used to work with – get some hugs and well wishes from the folks I love… (Thanks Jeff, Hannah, Kim, Ed, Gregg, Angie, Justin, Karen)!
I also got to visit a girlfriend and see her new home and we visited Trapper’s old boss and hung out with his family for a while. It was all awesome and now time to relax for a day, get some stuff fixed and move on! Don’t ever discount those corporate “friends” you make – they are awesome.
Do I miss this town or our house? No, I can’t say that I do.
I absolutely miss some of the people we knew/know and those were the ones we visited this week, as many as we could, and they are true friends!
Familiarity is an awesome thing! I’ve missed all those faces and conversations!
Our time back “home” has been very fulfilling.
It’s time for us to get a move on, I think.
