January 17, 2019 we officially became Texans!
Now, when we were trying to explain this to family and friends, I think we just confused everyone. Not everybody understands or gets the concept of two people choosing to live in 240 sq. ft.
And then, to add fuel to the flame, came the part of us choosing to become Texans. Some thought we were moving to Texas, some understood, and some didn’t care.
Based on our own research (yep, that would be YouTube video’s) Texas had it’s advantages for us. I’d say most fulltime RVer’s choose South Dakota, Florida or Texas. I’d say those three states are the top three picks.
We choose Texas because:
- The state is in the middle of the United States making it very convenient traveling around.
- Health Insurance is pretty easy to obtain.
- No state income tax.
- Relatively low property tax (in our case truck and camper).
- Decent prices on vehicle insurance.
- We like the state and we knew we’d be spending a lot of time in Texas.
Establishing residency was pretty straightforward.
