For us, we visited the Big Tent three or four days for a few hours each day. We were getting prices, estimates, and talking to the folks of certain companies. Not to mention checking out some of the recruiters for work camping jobs in 2020.
We had some service work done on our RV with Redlands (not affiliated, just a very happy customer!) They replaced all 8 shocks on our coach, weighed us, and aligned our front and rear end.
Another stop was Battleborn Batteries. We’ve tossed the idea around about swapping out our AGM’s with Lithium for a while. We talked about this with our 5th wheel but never did. After 15 months on the road and realizing we love boondocking (camping without services) it was time to upgrade! (no affiliation, just a great company and product).
Another item that’s been on our list for a while have been e-bikes. Although we have that tiny Jeep now and it’s quite nimble…. sometimes you just want to get out and get some exercise and maybe run into to some awesome people at a campground or boondocking somewhere. Or maybe you don’t feel like walking but would rather pedal and then pedal assist if you get tired.
We decided on Lectric eBikes. Again, no affiliation, but super people with a solid product. We’ve ridden ours all over the desert and they handle great. I’m anxious to get it on a solid surface and see how it handles. If it can handle off road trails in the desert I’m certain I’m going to love it on solid ground.
PRO TIP#2: Most show prices are much cheaper than online prices. We didn’t pay the prices you’re seeing in this post. And some states, these vendors go to, you won’t have the ridiculous sales tax that AZ has.
We also picked up and outdoor RV rug (6’x9′) for only $24 and I think that was it for purchases. We need to get out of Quartzsite! Cha-Ching, Cha-Ching.
Job opportunities. Several companies were represented here.
- JCPenny
- Delaware North
- Gate Guard
- Utah Recreation
- Amazon
- Recreation Resource Management of America (different from Recreation Resource Management)
So, bottom line…. if you’re looking for parts, service, toys, or jobs… attend the Big Tent RV show held in January in Quartzsite, AZ. It’s really worth the trip.
This wraps up Pt 2 so now let’s close out our time in Quartzsite with some fun and funny happenings in Pt 3!
Love the bikes…sounds successful
It was a great stop!!!
