Sitting in Tucson, AZ – waiting on other friends!

Zeke, our local friend here, offered us his laundry facilities and shower! Can’t beat that – free laundry and shower! He was nice enough, all weekend, to show us some amazing features of Tucson, AZ (that cost nothing to see; unless you want to spend money) and we bought the perfect recliner for our RV from him! Thanks Zeke! I love it and it completes the whole interior of our RV!

For the next three days we did normal stuff, like everyone else has to do; laundry, get the dog groomed, clean the house (RV) from the dust we’ve collected on so many dirt/back roads, grocery shop, and we did some more RV specific task. Go dump tanks and fill up with water and propane! Those are the basic necessities out here in an RV and really for life in general, right?

As far as our friends, Don & Carolyn, who are making their way to Arizona, made reservations at Hidden Valley Ranch RV Resort in Deming, NM for two nights. On the third day the weather turned ultra crappy and sustained winds of 40 mph gusting to upwards of 60 mph.

Having driven almost across the US in just a few days – they hit a stopping point. So they text us and simply said, “We’re staying here another night, see you guys Saturday” – who could blame them! Nobody’s worth seeing that much, right? We were battling 20 mph winds in Tucson, AZ and I was ready to bring the slides in and hook to the truck myself! I don’t want to see 60 mph winds!!!!

The desert has taken me a little getting used to. It can be 75 during the day and 35 at night. It can be calm winds in the morning, 15 mph winds during the day, and slightly breezy at sunset. Or it can just be blowing hard all day and night and freezing!

This whole RV Life/Living is a learning curve.

More on our friends, Don & Carolyn’s journey tomorrow. They had much more excitement than we did.
