If you visit the Alamo be sure and take the guided tour. It’s about an hour long but you walk with a guide who explains what you are looking at and tells the history. ($15/pp or $10/pp military discount). There are also audio tours for a cost or you can wonder around for free and read the posted plaques. For us, it was much more enjoyable with the guide.

It seems so surreal to me that I have the opportunity to see sites like this.

This day was also a surreal moment for me. I kept thinking, “I’m walking where history was made”, where Davie Crockett walked, and where a lot of people died to form this country as we know it.
We ended the day with a walk in the heart of San Antonio along the Riverwalk.
