One of the best trips of my life! Four hours of fun and “first class” ta-boot!
A lot of bloggers/vloggers report that this train departs from Sedona, AZ…. but it doesn’t! It departs from Clarksdale, AZ which is roughly a 25-30 minute drive south from Sedona, AZ. If you’re in Cottonwood, AZ or Jerome, AZ – it’s only about a 15 minute drive.
Regardless, you have to do this trip! And if possible, upgrade to First Class! Why, you ask?
Well the Coach cars hold 80 people, the First Class hold only 30 and they are spacious.
Also, ask about any discounts available. We used Trapper’s VA discount and were able to upgrade for $14. Well worth it! Plus they have other discount cards – just ask!
The First Class cars have a Champagne or Apple Cider “All Aboard Toast” with complimentary water, wings, veggie trays, and other finger foods for your travels. It’s also more comfortable and roomy! I absolutely loved this train ride – which was my first!
Now the silly pictures…. I was so excited! You curve around from Clarksdale, AZ to Perkinsville, AZ and basically at the end they switch the loco’s around and pull you back through the same spots back down to Clarksdale, AZ from Perkinsville, AZ. But the whole experience is different.
