Thanks to our family member who sent us a “Welcome Home” message when we got within reach of most of our family (not all – but a large majority!) This is awesome!
As of Oct 7, 2019 we’re at Twin Lakes RV Resort in Washington, NC. Yep, it’s on the coast and I’m very familiar with the area because my daughter went to college here (30 miles from here in Greenville, NC) and my brother went to college here too. So, yea, I feel connected in some way. I’ve made many trips here and can’t wait to take Trapper out to the Marina but first – we’ve got projects to tackle.
Remember that cabinet the shook apart on the PA Turnpike? We’ve got to get it fixed. Trapper forgot it was broken and snatched the whole thing apart.
So, yea, the time has come! I reached out to a woodworking friend of ours for advice. He suggested a particular glue and added we should add supports because the cabinet broke on the hinge side. We took his advice!
The glue Don (our woodworking friend) suggested was Tite Bond 2 but the store didn’t have 2 but had 3 so I got it! We glued the pieces together and let them set overnight. With no C-clamps we had to use bungees. Life on the road!
The next day we added the fasteners for more strength and put the cabinet door back on!
The glue is doing great and the door is in place just fine. I did move some things around in the cabinets because that was my most used cabinet and now I use it rarely. I can’t find a replacement door and these two cabinet doors are the only ones on the coach in this size. Go figure! I can’t just switch it out with one less used!
You can still see where the cabinet broke apart but that’s ok… it’s in place and functional! On to project 2!
